Privacy Notice
This policy explains how OUTPOST may collect, use, store, review, disclose, and otherwise process information connected with its servers, store, website, Discord community, bots, support systems, and related services.
1. Scope

This Privacy Policy applies to information processed in connection with the OUTPOST Rust server network, webstore, websites, Discord community, bots, plugins, support systems, administrative tools, and related services.

The information processed may vary depending on the server, feature, account, interaction, technical environment, support request, purchase, or security event involved.

2. Information OUTPOST May Collect

Information may include, without limitation:

  • Account and identity information: Steam IDs, Steam64 IDs, usernames, display names, historical names, Discord IDs, Discord usernames, roles, linked accounts, permissions, ranks, account status, and enforcement history.
  • Connection and technical information: IP addresses, authentication records, connection and disconnection times, server selections, network errors, failed connections, system events, and server logs.
  • Gameplay and service activity: kills, deaths, damage, combat activity, movement, playtime, statistics, leaderboard data, inventory information, entities, structures, buildings, teams, clans, affiliations, commands, plugin activity, economy activity, Tokens, rewards, transactions, and audit records.
  • Communications and user-submitted content: public chat, team chat, private messages, command messages, signs, paintings, uploaded or linked images, reports, appeals, support messages, screenshots, videos, logs, attachments, and other material submitted to OUTPOST.
  • Security and enforcement information: anti-cheat alerts, detection flags, combat or movement logs, ban-evasion indicators, account-linkage indicators, fraud indicators, staff observations, investigation records, evidence, reports, punishments, appeals, and related administrative notes.
  • Order and delivery information: account, order, transaction, package, delivery, status, and support information made available in connection with a purchase.
3. Payment Information

Tebex acts as the Merchant of Record for purchases processed through the OUTPOST store. OUTPOST may receive order, account, transaction-status, package, delivery, and support information that Tebex makes available to creators.

OUTPOST does not receive or store complete payment-card numbers, banking passwords, or other full payment credentials processed by Tebex.

4. How Information May Be Used

OUTPOST may use information as reasonably necessary to:

  • Operate, maintain, configure, secure, and improve servers and related services.
  • Authenticate users and administer accounts, permissions, ranks, Tokens, deliveries, and access.
  • Process, verify, troubleshoot, and support purchases and automated delivery.
  • Enforce server, community, payment, and platform rules.
  • Detect, investigate, prevent, and respond to cheating, exploitation, ban evasion, fraud, abuse, attacks, and security incidents.
  • Review reports, appeals, disputes, support tickets, and staff decisions.
  • Diagnose errors, outages, performance issues, plugin behavior, and data inconsistencies.
  • Create, maintain, and analyze service statistics, rankings, records, and operational reports.
  • Protect OUTPOST, its staff, its systems, and its users.
  • Meet legal, compliance, recordkeeping, dispute-handling, and security requirements.
5. Automated Systems and Administrative Review

OUTPOST may use automated or semi-automated systems, plugins, bots, filters, logging tools, and anti-cheat systems to record activity, identify patterns, generate alerts, restrict certain actions, and automatically apply limited measures such as kicks, mutes, blocks, or temporary restrictions.

Automated results may be considered together with other information. OUTPOST administrators retain final authority over interpretation, investigation, enforcement, and any decision to maintain, modify, expand, or remove a measure.

6. Disclosure and Service Access

OUTPOST may provide access to or disclose information where reasonably necessary to authorized administrators, moderators, support personnel, contractors, infrastructure providers, hosting or security providers, payment or platform services, technical service providers, professional advisers, or other parties assisting with operation, support, security, investigation, or dispute handling.

Information may also be disclosed where OUTPOST reasonably believes disclosure is necessary to comply with law, respond to a lawful request, protect rights or safety, investigate fraud or abuse, defend a claim, address an attack, or protect the integrity of OUTPOST or another service.

7. Enforcement Information

OUTPOST may, at its discretion, publish or disclose some or all of a player's username, Steam ID, enforcement reason, enforcement status, and enforcement duration where considered appropriate for transparency, deterrence, safety, administration, or community management.

OUTPOST may instead keep enforcement information internal and is not required to publish a decision, provide complete investigation materials, identify reporting parties, or disclose information that could compromise security, privacy, staff safety, detection methods, or enforcement systems.

8. Data Retention

OUTPOST retains information for as long as reasonably necessary for server operation, security, fraud prevention, rule enforcement, ban-evasion prevention, support, dispute handling, recordkeeping, technical diagnosis, service improvement, or legal and administrative requirements.

Retention periods vary according to the type of information, the purpose for which it is used, the sensitivity of the information, ongoing risks, available storage, technical limitations, and operational needs. Ban, ban-evasion, anti-cheat, fraud, transaction, payment-dispute, investigation, and enforcement records may be retained for extended periods where necessary to prevent repeated abuse or protect the service.

Information contained in backups, archives, logs, or replicated systems may remain until it is removed through normal rotation, replacement, maintenance, or deletion processes.

9. Security

OUTPOST uses reasonable administrative, technical, and operational measures appropriate to the nature of the information and the services involved. However, no server, network, platform, account, transmission method, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, continuously available, or free from unauthorized access, loss, error, or misuse.

10. Access, Correction, and Deletion Requests

You may submit a request through the official OUTPOST Discord to ask about, access, correct, or delete information that OUTPOST can reasonably identify and process. OUTPOST may require verification of Steam, Discord, account, or transaction ownership before acting on a request.

OUTPOST may deny, restrict, delay, or partially fulfill a request where necessary to protect security, prevent fraud, preserve anti-cheat or ban-evasion systems, maintain enforcement records, resolve payment disputes, protect another person, comply with law, establish or defend a claim, preserve service integrity, or address a request that is excessive, repetitive, technically impracticable, or not verifiable.

Deletion of account-related information does not automatically remove a valid ban, restriction, security record, fraud record, or enforcement decision. OUTPOST does not guarantee that deleted data can be restored.

11. International Processing and Legal Disclosure

Information may be processed, transmitted, accessed, or stored in different countries depending on where OUTPOST systems, staff, infrastructure, contractors, or related services are located.

OUTPOST may preserve or disclose information when reasonably necessary to respond to lawful process, comply with legal obligations, investigate misconduct, prevent harm, handle fraud or security incidents, protect users or staff, or defend OUTPOST's rights and services.

12. Policy Updates and Contact

OUTPOST may update this Privacy Policy at any time. Unless OUTPOST states otherwise, an updated version becomes effective when posted. OUTPOST is not required to provide individual notice of every change.

Privacy questions and requests must be submitted through the official OUTPOST Discord. OUTPOST does not guarantee a fixed response time and may request additional information where reasonably necessary to verify identity, locate records, protect security, or understand the request.
